This clay class is in collaboration with Suze’s PCA production, “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” which is set in LaGrange, Texas on The Chicken Ranch. Times grew harder during the Depression and the Ranch adopted the “poultry standard” as a payment method and soon chickens were everywhere. The meat and the eggs provided the household with plenty of food and extra income. The brothel was listed on the tax rolls as a poultry farm.

Artists will work with our expert instructor to create two unique poultry characters (your choice of hens, roosters, or both). Artists will learn how to build and decorate a cone shape as a foundation, and then decorate it to brings its personality to life!

This 2-hour workshop is designed for complete beginners and will be held in the PCA Ceramic Studio in the bottom floor of the new Studio Building (enter from the back parking lot). The registration fee includes clay, decoration tools, the glazing and firing of the finished piece, and one beverage of your choice. Additional beverages can be purchased during the session.

Artists will pick up their finished and fired items at the Ceramic Studio on Saturday, 6/1 during the Adventure at the Center event.
